Hood Theological Seminary is partnering with Cabarrus Health Alliance to offer a free 10-week course designed for clergy and other church leaders to encourage healthy living for themselves and their congregations.
The course, led by Cabarrus Health Alliance professionals, is available on two schedules: 9:30-10:45 a.m. Thursdays or 9:30-10:45 a.m. Saturdays, beginning Sept. 7.
Hood Seminary students and community clergy and church leaders are encouraged to attend.
The classes are designed to help participants transform their physical, mental and spiritual health by learning to plan, shop for and prepare healthy meals for the family; discover delicious, healthy, family-friendly recipes; explore simple ways to be physically active; talk about the connections among food, physical activity and faith; and learn about community resources to support the health of congregations.
The course is made possible by a grant from the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust for Healthy Partnerships and is open to the public. To register, contact Jenn West at 704-920-1337 or jennifer.west@cabarrushealth.org.
